The All New Ford Fiesta is a leap forward in terms of style. Reimagined, redesigned and restyled, the modifications to this vehicle reflect the changes to the target market of the Fiesta and also help to maintain its position at the head of the pack in terms of innovation and forward thinking.
Exterior
Speaking to Auto Express, George Saridakis, Exterior Design Director for Ford Europe, notes that “research showed that Fiesta buyers are maturing.” In terms of how this impacts design, “it’s less of a fashion statement and more a timeless design,” says Saridakis. “There are fewer lines and stronger surfaces; it’s uncluttered and less busy than the outgoing car, but still recognisable as a Fiesta.”
The All New Fiesta is now available with a new 1.1ltr petrol engine as well as the 1.0ltr EcoBoost engine, which has been especially adapted to create an industry first for a three cylinder. Called cylinder deactivation, it allows the engine to partially shut down when cruising at a consistent speed, saving on fuel costs.
